The Get UNstuck Approach

Lasting change rarely comes from trying harder. More often, it begins with becoming aware of the beliefs, assumptions and mental maps through which we interpret our experiences. As we become aware of the mental maps that no longer serve us, new and more resourceful ways of thinking can begin to emerge.

My coaching is grounded in this philosophy. Together, we explore the mental maps shaping your experience, uncover new perspectives and develop more resourceful ways of thinking, feeling and responding.

At the heart of my coaching are three simple principles:

Reflect. Reframe. Transform.

My Philosophy

I believe that people are not generally stuck because they lack intelligence, motivation, or potential. More often, they are stuck because they are operating from beliefs, assumptions and mental maps that no longer serve them.

I recognise that people respond not directly to reality, but to their internal representations of reality.

The meanings we create, the beliefs we adopt and the mental maps we develop shape how we experience ourselves, others and the world around us.

When limiting beliefs, unhelpful assumptions and unconscious thinking patterns remain outside our awareness, they quietly shape our choices, influence our emotions and restrict the possibilities we see.

I help bring these thinking patterns into awareness, allowing new possibilities begin to emerge.

My role as a coach is not to provide answers, but to facilitate the process of self-discovery so that you can create meaningful and lasting change.

How I Help

We all have blind spots.

The mental maps, meanings and frames through which we experience life often operate outside our conscious awareness. Because we live inside these patterns, it can be difficult to recognise them for what they are.

Coaching gives you a mirror into your mind.

Just as we cannot see our own face without a mirror, we often need a different perspective to recognise the assumptions, beliefs, internal representations and frames that shape our experience of ourselves, others and the world around us.

As these patterns become visible, something important happens.

We begin to realise that many of the limitations we experience are not imposed by reality itself, but by the way we have come to interpret it.

That awareness creates choice.

And with choice comes the possibility of lasting change.

Reflect

Reflection is more than simply thinking about a problem.

By carefully listening, reflecting your own words back to you and asking thoughtful questions, I help you become aware of the beliefs, assumptions and mental maps shaping your experience. In doing so, coaching holds up a mirror into your mind, allowing you to observe your own thinking and shed the light on any unhelpful thinking pattern you may have.

Reframe

Once unhelpful patterns become visible, we can begin to explore them differently.

Together, we examine the beliefs, assumptions and meanings that support those patterns, asking whether they are accurate, useful or serving you well. As new perspectives emerge, more resourceful ways of understanding yourself, others and your experiences begin to take shape.

Changing the map does not change reality, but it can profoundly change how we experience and respond to it.

Transform

Transformation is about turning new insights into lasting patterns.

Together we develop more resourceful ways of thinking, feeling and responding so that they become increasingly natural and automatic in everyday life. The goal is to integrate this new helpful thinking pattern so deeply that it becomes your natural way of responding.

As these new patterns become part of who you are, they begin to influence how you experience yourself, others and the world around you.

Getting UNstuck

These three principles guide every coaching conversation. While every client and every session is unique, awareness, new perspectives and meaningful change remain at the heart of the process.

My role as your coach is not to provide answers or tell you what to say, think or do. It is to listen carefully, reflect your thinking back to you, ask questions that deepen awareness and, when appropriate, gently challenge the beliefs and assumptions that may be keeping you stuck so that you can move forward.
